All primary and secondary school pupils in Scotland are being offered the flu vaccine.
Flu can be serious, even for healthy children
That’s why all primary and secondary school pupils in Scotland are now being offered the flu vaccine. Children aged 2 to 5 years (not yet at school) are also eligible.
The flu vaccine is a painless nose spray and doesn’t give someone flu.
Why should my child get the vaccine?
This winter our immunity to flu may be lower than usual.
A flu vaccination is the best way to protect yourself from flu and everyone around you.
How the vaccine will be given
Your child will be offered the flu vaccine at school.
Consent forms will be issued by schools.
If your child is 2 to 5 years (not yet at school), you will receive a letter telling you how to arrange your child's appointment.
