NHS Scotland turns 70

On 5 July 2018, the NHS will celebrate its 70th anniversary.

NHS Scotland and the Scottish Government will be working with a wide range of partners to celebrate 70 years of the NHS in Scotland. We want everyone to get involved - from patients and the public to NHS Boards, our partners in health and social care and the voluntary sector, professional bodies, and unions.

It’s a great opportunity to look back and celebrate 70 years of achievement in Scotland and the difference the NHS has made to people’s lives, and to reaffirm our ongoing commitment to the founding principles of the NHS.

Get involved

We want you to get involved and help us celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the NHS in Scotland.

You can help us promote and celebrate the anniversary on social media by creating social media posts in the run-up to 5 July, changing social media profile images and banners to reflect the 70th Anniversary supporting logo and using the #nhsscot70 hashtag.

Events and activities will be taking place across the country.

We are providing a range of resources to help you celebrate 70 years of the NHS in Scotland, including resources for staff, NHS organisations, partners and educators.
