Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Rearrange or opt-out of your coronavirus vaccination appointment
NHS Scotland will contact you about your coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination appointment.
NHS Scotland will never ask you to pay for the coronavirus vaccine. Do not share your bank details with anyone offering you the vaccine for a fee.
Rearrange an appointment
Please make every effort to attend your appointment. This allows NHS Scotland to continue to offer vaccinations to everyone as quickly as possible.
However, if you are still unable to attend, or cannot get to the venue you can rearrange your appointment.
You should also rearrange your appointment if you:
- have symptoms of a respiratory infection such as coronavirus, and you have a high temperature or do not feel well enough to go to work or carry out normal activities
- have recently tested positive for coronavirus
If you've recently tested positive for coronavirus, even if you have no symptoms, you should wait until 4 weeks after the date you were tested to get the vaccine. Children and young people aged 5 to 17 years who are not at higher risk of coronavirus should wait 12 weeks after the date they were tested to get the vaccine.
Self-help guide
If you're trying to rearrange your appointment online and there are no vaccination appointments available, please check again later. The national vaccination helpline will be unable to offer alternative appointments as they use the same online booking system.
Attending vaccine drop-in clinics
If you are unable to attend the appointment you've been given, you can attend a vaccine drop-in clinic.
If you go to a drop-in clinic to get your coronavirus vaccine but already had a future appointment booked, NHS Scotland will automatically cancel the booked appointment for you.
Opting out of getting the vaccine
NHS Scotland strongly recommends you get the coronavirus vaccine when offered it.
However, if you decide to opt-out of getting the vaccine, you should use the 'rearranging your coronavirus vaccine' guide above, to find out how to remove yourself from the programme.
After opting out, you will receive no further invitations to attend coronavirus vaccination appointments at this time.
If you change your mind after opting-out and want to get the vaccine, phone the appropriate number using the details in the guide or attend a drop-in clinic.
