Thank you for reporting a problem with this service. We will consider your request and make any changes within 48 hours.
Our Doing Well, Renfrewshire Primary Care Mental Health Team (PCMHT) offers a primary care service for people with common mental health problems. Our service is provided by healthcare workers offering treatment, information, advice and support.
We're a psychologically minded service and we deliver shorter interventions using a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) model of treatment.
Your first contact would be a telephone assessment or one-to-one appointment. You will complete about six to eight 45-minute sessions where you might use self-help materials, information, education and self-awareness. We want to help you understand your difficulties and, in turn, to develop ways to cope.
Our team is made up of a range of professionals including psychiatrists, a psychologist, primary care liaison workers and administrative staff.
We usually receive referrals to the service either from your GP or other health or social care professional, or by self-referral. Once received, our team will carefully assess your mental health needs by telephone or face-to-face appointments. A clinician will discuss and decide with you where and how the most appropriate treatment will be provided.
