The multi-disciplinary service is made up of Social Workers, Nurses, Substance Misuse Workers and Occupational Therapists, with additional support provided Addictions Psychology, Addictions Psychiatry, and Community Prescribers.
CAReS provide medical interventions and substitute prescribing, which can include same day prescribing for opiate replacement. Detoxification regimes, and medications designed to reduce cravings. We can also provide harm reduction strategies, and practical support regarding employment, relationships, housing and general wellbeing.
You can refer yourself to CAReS, or can be referred by your GP, or Social Worker.
Once referred into the service, you will be allocated to a worker to work with you on what service you might need. This can range from short-term assistance, or longer-term support depending on your circumstances.
