Aberdeen Dementia Resource Centre, based at 13 – 19 King Street, Aberdeen, offers people with dementia and their carers advice, information and support to understand and manage the symptoms of dementia.
We also have a variety of therapeutic activities to which people with dementia and their carers are welcome to attend. Details of all the activities we offer are found in our bi-monthly newsletter, which is free to people with dementia, their carers and professionals.
We also run monthly carers’ support groups for carers and a bi-monthly support group for anyone who is supporting someone in residential care or hospital or is planning residential care for someone.
We also hold a monthly Positive Dementia Group for those who want to get involved in research, local and national consultations and awareness raising.
The Dementia Advisor is also able to offer organisations or groups free Dementia Friends’ Sessions. A rolling programme of training for carers is also available at the Centre. The Dementia Advisor can also offer people appointments at the Centre to discuss their situation or home visits if people cannot access the Centre.
