You can share your COVID Status when travelling internationally and for some events and venues in Scotland.
What is the COVID Status?
The COVID Status app lets you share your COVID Status securely.
Your COVID Status (or COVID passport) is your coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination records. It contains details of the vaccine doses you've received. You can use it to prove you've been vaccinated against coronavirus.
Make sure you have the latest version of the app. It's been updated to include domestic mode for use in Scotland.
Using your COVID Status for international travel
If you're 12 or over, you can show your COVID Status when travelling abroad. You may also need to follow additional rules when travelling abroad.
You should continue to follow the entry requirements of the country you are travelling to. You should carefully research what you need to do to enter a country before travelling.
Using your COVID Status in Scotland
If you're 18 or over, you can show your coronavirus vaccination records on your app when visiting venues and events in Scotland. This is known as 'domestic use'. Alternatively, from 6 December you can show text or email record of a negative test taken in the last 24 hours.
If you're under 18, you will not be asked to show your COVID Status to access events and venues within Scotland.
Who can get a COVID Status?
You can get your COVID Status for travelling abroad if you're 12 or over and have been vaccinated in Scotland.
You should also follow the entry requirements of the country you're travelling to.
If you were vaccinated outside of Scotland
If you were vaccinated in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man or the Republic of Ireland, you can have your COVID Status updated to include this information.
If you were vaccinated elsewhere, your vaccine information will not show on your COVID Status. You should get proof of vaccination from the country you were vaccinated in instead.
How to access your COVID Status
You can access your COVID Status through the free app on a mobile device. For example, a smartphone.
You can also download or request a copy of your vaccination status online or by phoning the COVID Status Helpline on 0808 196 8565.
If you're 12 to 17, you can download or request a copy of your vaccination status online or by phoning the COVID Status Helpline on 0808 196 8565. You cannot use the app.
Give yourself plenty of time to set up your app or request your paper certificate before you need it.
Proof of a negative test
From 6 December, you can show your record of a negative test confirmation text or email to enter events and venues in Scotland. This is an alternative to showing your COVID vaccination status.
You can order or collect packs of lateral flow device (LFD) tests to do at home. When you report your result, you’ll be asked to opt in to receive your result confirmation by text and email. You can use this result confirmation as a record of your test result at venues where certification is required. Please do not take your used test or a photo of your test to prove your result as this will not be accepted. The text message or email can be shown electronically or via a printed paper copy.
