Our Activity on Prescription scheme offers support especially for people who have or are recovering from a medical condition such as stroke, cancer, cardiac, diabetes, falls, pulmonary or poor mental health. We can help you to become more active and maybe make some small changes that could make a big difference to your health!
If you suffer from any of the above conditions, you could be eligible for Activity on Prescription support which means:-
• A health check and assessment by a specialist
• Access to high-quality and dedicated support on the phone or in person
• Help with gym and exercise costs
Some of the benefits noticed by people taking part in Activity on Prescription include:

• Reduce stress levels and improve mood
• Improved ability to carry out day tasks
• Reduce your risk of coronary heart disease, stroke and diabetes
To access Activity on Prescription you must be referred by a professional who is registered to refer to Activity on Prescription. Non medical professionals cannot refer anyone who has complex medical conditions or co morbidities. People must be stable in their physical or mental health condition and they must not be under investigation for new undiagnosed symptoms. Activity on Prescription is our exercise referral scheme, which links with key professionals in our communities (GP Practice, community mental health teams, community connectors) and within the main hospitals within East Ayrshire.
No charge for Activity on prescription.
£1.65 per class and varied cost for reduced access to gyms.
